Displaying SAP R/3 Information
Information that resides in the R/3 application database can be displayed for review and use
by R/3 System users. Besides displaying data for individual transactions, the Executive
Information Systems (EIS) feature of R/3 can be used to display summarized information ...
Before you can use the R/3 system, you need to logon. When you are done working on your
tasks in the R/3 system, you log off. The SAP R/3 logon process requests the specification of
a client, asks for your user name and password, and allows you to select the language used in
displaying the R/3 screens and menus. The client is the data set that you use within the R/3
database and must be specified for accessing the appropriate MSI data from the training
database. Also, if you want to work in a language other than English, you need to see your
system administrator or instructor to make sure you know the language key for your desired
language.
The first time you logon, and at regular intervals thereafter, you should change your
password. Your R/3 System administrator assigns you an initial password to use when you
logon for the first time. During the process of logging on, you should give yourself a new
password, one that you create. After that, you use your own password whenever you logon.
In the steps below, you are instructed to use the mouse pointer in selecting each field. The
R/3 System also allows you to press the Tab key after you enter data in a field. When you
press the Tab key, the cursor moves to the beginning of the next field.
