Matlab Manual And Introductory Tutorials
This manual provides an introduction to MATLAB with exercises which arespecically oriented to the MATLAB service provided by Bath University Computing Service (BUCS). However much of the information provided here is applicable to any MATLAB installation, PC, Mac or UNIX.
This manual has a dual role: it serves rstasasetof directed tutorials to be carried out in the laboratory and second as a general reference manual for MATLAB. Each chapter of the manual represents one tutorial, and includes exercises to be done during private study time. For each tutorial you should read through the relevant chapter, trying out the various features of MATLABwhichare described, and then you should do the exercises. You may extend the chapter by doing your own experiments with the system. Responsible experimenta- tionisessential when learning computing.
Type demo. AMATLAB demo window comes up. This contains examples of the use of many MATLAB features listed on the left-hand side of the window. You should work through the demos on Graphics, Language and Gallery. Some of the items there are quite advanced: you should not feel that you need to understand everything you see, but try to geta feel fora range of available commands.
